1eSIM compatibility — frequently asked questions
Quick answers to the most common eSIM device questions.
Search for your model in the list above, or check your device settings. On iPhone go to Settings > General > About and look for a Digital SIM or EID number. On Android open Settings > Connections > SIM manager and look for an Add eSIM option. Your device also has to be carrier-unlocked.
Most iPhones from the iPhone XR / XS (2018) onward, many Android flagships such as Samsung Galaxy S, Z Fold and Z Flip, Google Pixel 3 and newer, plus Wi-Fi + Cellular iPads, some cellular laptops and LTE smartwatches. Browse the full, searchable list above.
This usually means the device is carrier-locked, or it is a regional model without eSIM hardware — for example iPhones bought in Mainland China (and most models from Hong Kong / Macao) do not support eSIM. Your iPhone must be unlocked and eSIM-capable to activate a Roambit eSIM.
Open Settings > General > About and scroll to Available SIM or Digital SIM — if you see an EID number, your iPhone supports eSIM. You can also go to Settings > Cellular > Add eSIM to confirm.
Many do. Open Settings > Connections (or Network & internet) > SIM manager and look for Add eSIM or Download a SIM instead. You can also dial *#06# — if an EID number appears, your phone is eSIM-ready. Check the Samsung, Google, Xiaomi and other lists above.
No. A carrier-locked phone cannot install a third-party eSIM. Your device needs to be carrier-unlocked and eSIM-capable. Once unlocked, setup takes only a couple of minutes.
